Saxitoxin (PSP), in Water and Shellfish, Dipstick
The Saxitoxin (PSP) strip test kit (available in 5 and 20 test configurations) permits semi-quantitative/qualitative detection of saxitoxin (PSP) in fresh and marine water samples in the range 0.2 – 3.0 ppb (fresh water and finished drinking water), 2 – 30 ppb (seawater) and 40 ug/100g - 600 ug/100g (shellfish).
The rapid saxitoxin (PSP) strip test kit offers a low cost semi-quantitative/qualitative screening option to identify and effectively respond to potential public health risks in an actionable timeframe.
Positive samples should be confirmed by ELISA, HPLC or other quantitative method.
**If testing shellfish, the Shellfish Extraction kit (PN 520047) must be used to prepare samples prior to analysis in the test kit
The PSP (Saxitoxin) Strip Test for Water is a rapid immunochromatographic test, designed for use in the qualitative/semi-quantitative screening of Saxitoxin in seawater, drinking water and recreational waters (please see Section 7. Sample Collection and Handling, for information on testing various water types). The PSP (Saxitoxin) Strip Test provides qualitative/semi-quantitative test results. If necessary, positive samples can be confirmed by ELISA, HPLC or other conventional methods.
